What to pitch
A strong idea has a clear reader, a distinct subject and a useful point of view. We are interested in nearby day plans, close observation of local places, outdoor outings, shared activities and overlooked details that reward attention. Keep the focus narrow enough to explain in a few sentences.
What makes a good proposal
Tell us the working idea, why it suits Local Weekend Stories, what the reader will take away and how you would shape the piece. Mention any experience or material relevant to the subject, but do not send confidential information or make claims you cannot support. We do not need a finished article with an initial pitch.
